We decide to travel at a slower pace over to the train
station |
where we are entertained by a wild west show |
after which |
we board the train for a trip up to the canyon |
Boy what a view as we headed North. |
Grandma Nancy and Grandpa Bill enjoying the ride |
Hello everyone |
The view from the rim literally takes away your
breath! |
not only is it wide but it's DEEP! |
looking down at the mule trail that leads down to the
phantom ranch. |
It doesn't even look real does it. |
Sarah looking across the expansive beauty of God's creation. |
yet another view. |
All this looking makes one hungry. |
on the way back we are being entertained by a banjo
player when Suddenly-- |
we find ourselves in the middle of a train robbery |
which is quickly foiled by the sheriff |
which made Sarah very happy. |
Sarah checks the list as we prepare to leave Williams
Arizona for Rio Rancho New Mexico to visit |
friends Al and Kay Messersmith |
The next morning we head for Bill's home town of LaVeta
Colorado for an Ice Cream cone at Charlie's |
after which we went to Grandpa Bill's old farm where he
stopped to pet a goat |
Sarah decides she prefers mall walking to following Grandpa
through the weeds to his old |
tree house |
with a sigh of relief Sarah bids adieu to the old homestead |
for a quick visit to the house where her Grandma Jan grew up |
boy what a tiring day |
The next morning Fred checks out the view as we leave for
Denver |
